Self-Aligning Spherical Roller Bearing – EA Series / Installing Tapered Bore Bearings
NSK self-aligning roller bearings are available with cylindrical or tapered bore.
Tapered bore bearings are installed directly on shafts with cylindrical seat, by means of adapter or disassembly bushings
The self-aligning roller bearings are installed by checking the radial clearance reduction, based on the axial displacement. Initial and residual clearance values (after installation) are shown in Tables 1 and 2, and can be measured with the help of feeler gauge. Check the clearance in both races, being careful to maintain the two values approximate.
