This bearing has excellent performance in environments exposed to water or dust and it does not have to be replaced, because it is designed to last until the end of the bearing useful life. It comes in two categories: high rotation and general use.
Molded-Oil is basically a resin that contains lubricating oil. The resin is polyolefin (high density hydrocarbon), which functions as a mechanical barrier against incoming impurities and water, in addition to preserving the lubricant oil, ensuring it is always in contact with the rolling elements.
Moded-Oil endures 2.5 times more than a conventional grease in the presence of water or humidity.
The figure beside shows the 22315L11CAM bearing (self-aligning roller bearing), with 636 rpm rotation, 4,000 N radial load, utilization time of approximately one year and laminating machine.
After one year of usage, the bearing did not present wear signals on the races and rolling bodies, there was only a decrease of 12% in lubricating oil.
The Molded-Oil is currently used in self-aligning roller bearings, one ball race rigid bearings and tapered rollers. For application in other bearing types, contact NSK.
These bearings are identified by the suffixes:
L11 general use; L12 use in high rotations (see table).
The suffixes are added right after the bearing designation code.
This equipment can be used in a various applications, such as machining machines, paper industry, agricultural machines, food processing equipment, clean lines and difficult maintenance machines.
Important note: this kind of bearing is not recommended for environments with temperatures higher than 100°C and for environments exposed to anti-greasers and organic solvents.
