Many products are manufactured and processed in extremely corrosive environments. Production of LCDs, hard discs and semiconductors, food processing, pharmaceutical industry and the use of equipment with special cleaning operations are typical applications in which the bearings are exposed to a wide variety of chemical substances (water, acids, alkali), through direct contact or presence of vapor.
