These kinds of bearings allow radial load support and axial load support in one direction. The balls and the internal and external rings form 15°, 25°, 30° or 40° contact angles. The higher the contact angle, the larger the axial load capacity; those that have a lower angle are better used in high rotations. Normally, two bearing parts are put against each other and used with clearance adjustment.
Steel pressed cages are generally used for this type of equipment. However, for high precision bearings with contact angle lower than 30°, the polyamide cages are mostly used.
